Modal Resonance

Modal Resonance is a site specific sound sculpture which explores the phenomenon of
standing waves and resonant frequencies within enclosed spaces.
The work explores relationships between sound and architecture.

Through acoustic analysis, resonant chambers have been created which will describe
through tones the geometrical volumes within the space.
By moving through the space & re arranging the resonators, one will encounter the complexities of wave interaction, reverberation, interference, phase cancelation, filtration, absorption, nodes and antinodes.

Modal resonance is inherently a sound sculpture because it is experienced as much in
space as it is in time.
