Covering ground between Bank Junction and St Paul’s Cathedral, this walk illustrates the City planning authorities willingness to take architectural risks. We encounter striking visual contrast with the placement of uncompromising contemporary designs adjacent to Grade 1 listed buildings, and consider the planning process that led to approval. Amongst numerous practices with projects under-construction and completed in the western city are OMA, Eric Parry Architects and Jean Nouvel.
Meet at the reception area of The Developing City exhibition in The Walbrook Building, opposite Cannon Street Station 10 minutes before the start time.
