Wallpaper’s annual Architects Directory, a highlight of the magazine’s July Design Directory issue, is the ultimate little black book of new architectural talent. Featuring a selection of up-and-coming architects from around the world, it is an eagerly awaited snapshot of emerging young talent, bringing new work to global prominence.
This year, the directory features 20 practices, each from a different country across six continents. Peter Crawley, the artist behind the cover for Wallpaper’s August 2011 Handmade issue, has been commissioned to create 20 beautifully hand-stitched art pieces, each representing the work of one of the architectural practices. The pieces will be on display at the SW1 Gallery in London from 27 June to 7 July.
The exhibition is kindly supported by Land Securities, the UK’s largest commercial property company which, following the successful development of Cardinal Place in 2006, has revealed ambitious plans to transform Victoria into London’s newest destination where people will want to live, work, shop and socialise.
